For all of you who don’t know, my sister Mackenzie and her husband Brendan had their baby at 27 weeks and 4 days this past Tuesday, 02/25/25. Aubrey Nicole Adkins made her grand entrance weighing 1lb 15oz and 35 centimeters long. My sister went through pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome, much quicker than anticipated. She had to have an emergency c-section and have that completed under anesthesia, so unfortunately Brendan missed the birth of their beautiful baby girl. My sister and Brendan were able to go home today, but of course had to leave her Aubrey in the NICU until she is stable enough to come home and grow. Aubrey is doing wonderful and the NICU staff have been absolutely amazing, but going back and forth to the hospital is going to be tough. With Mackenzie recovering from the c-section and not being able to drive, while pumping and trying to get Aubrey as much breast milk as possible, things will not be easy. Our village is here to get them through this difficult time. Baby Aubrey’s Love Team is made to assist with food, snacks, love, prayers, and any support people want to give these three to make this journey just a bit easier.
