Story
Huge thanks to this amazing community for all of the love and support! So many of you have asked how to help so we setup this page with some honest answers. We greatly appreciate help getting groceries and/or making meals and entertaining the big kids for the first few weeks. We had both of our other kids during the pandemic so we're not actually well versed in asking for help because we couldn't have much of it the last two times we did this! Thank you to everyone who found ways to show their love and support during that crazy time. This go around, we’re going to setup a WhatsApp group for last minute requests. If you want to be in that group and receive messages with no pressure to respond please add yourself here https://chat.whatsapp.com/DKsaiCsdzW07DXEfKjAahN or if you can't get in via the link text Allegra on WhatsApp and she'll add you to that group. We're planning to use it as a quick communication tool when we’re extra sleep deprived to send out a call for help with the big kids or when we are drowning in laundry and could use a hand. We really do love visitors and we’re not very experienced in telling you to come in or kindly kicking you out for that matter either (see pandemic parents above). When you're going to drop something off and want to say hi or visit, please just text allegra (914) 474-4734. If we don't respond it means we're asleep or in a bubble and appreciate you dropping things off at the door. If we say yes, please leave your shoes in the mudroom and wash your hands as soon as you come inside. And circa 2021 if you feel even the slightest bit sick, or like you may have seasonal allergies, please come visit us a different day.
Special Notes
Food restrictions: thank you for cooking a meal for us! We have a dairy kitchen. Allegra can not eat cheese, milk, yogurt etc but can eat butter. And everyone else loves dairy so if your go to meal train is a dairy dish we welcome and appreciate it, just please label that it’s not for Allegra. We stocked up on easy to make quick foods like pasta, sandwich stuff, and oatmeal so any vegetable heavy meals to counter the carbs we’re feeding the kids at other times is extra helpful. Some options that they really enjoy: stir fry, beans and rice, roasted vegetables, soups of all kinds, cold salads, hard boiled eggs. We will be observing Passover in early April. If you’re unfamiliar with the food restrictions during this time please consider helping out later in the month. The days of Passover are marked on the calendar. Grocery drop: if you signed up to do a grocery drop we will pay you for the groceries. Please let us :) We are so grateful that you’d add our items to your errands list and want to feel comfortable asking for the things we really need right now without concern that we’re asking friends to spend a set amount of money. The gift of your time is truly amazing and more than enough generosity. Text Allegra (914)474-4734 with which grocery you're planning to go to and she'll send you a shopping list. Please send how much it comes out to and your Venmo info! Help With Big Kids! If our kids know you very well (they've been to your home before, you've been in our home with them before, etc) we could really use help from friends who want to play in the backyard together with them from 4-530 most days. It's the craziest hour of the day when we are all the most tired and it's been great to have an extra adult focusing on them. We may also be able to be there then but it's also ideal time to nap before the marathon baby night. If you are up for this please text allegra.
