Support for Rose's Rest & Recovery

Champaign, IL

Story

It's time to give my ute the boot! After enduring debilitating periods for over TWO DECADES, I am finally getting a hysterectomy! 🥳 Taking this step after so long feels so great as I prioritize my own health and wellbeing, and also scary at the same time. As with any surgery, it comes with risks and a dedicated post-op routine is essential to recovery. I've put together this page as a way to coordinate support throughout the rest & recovery process. 💕 I am so thankful that my mom will be coming up from Virginia to be with me the day of the surgery and the days after, AND I know that true care takes a village. I've put together a wishlist on Amazon of things to support my care, and am also hoping to get some support with surgery costs, groceries/meals, and company for me and Atticus. I'm also very open to recommendations for books, shows, movies, and music! Thank you in advance to any way that you show up for me, I love you and appreciate you all! 🤗 🤗 🤗

Special Notes

I eat a 95% plant-based diet with the exception of some cheese and dairy, in particular when it comes to baked goods. 🤤 I love basically all foods, though I'm supposed to avoid spicy foods for the first few weeks. I love homemade food and grew up in the south so casseroles are life. Some local restaurants and dishes that I love are Golden Harbor (signature tofu, all veggies, crispy noodles), Siam Terrace (anything on their vegetarian menu), Maize (flor tacos, fajitas), Pekara (any baked goods or sandwiches), and Watson's (that tofu po boy y'all!). I'm a COVID-cautious/conscious cutie through and through, so if you plan to visit, please make sure you are not/no one in your house is sick, and be prepared to wear a mask. 😷
