Sisterly Love supports my family as I undergo a liver and biliary tree transplant. I will not be able to care for my darlings in the capacity I am used to during my healing process. So, I am humbly asking for your help in making sure they are well fed. A little bit about this chapter of my life: I was diagnosed with a rare auto immune disease in 2015 called, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC). In short it is a liver disease in which the bile ducts inside and outside of the liver become inflamed and scarred and eventually narrowed or blocked. Bile then builds in the liver and causes further liver damage. There are no treatments or medications, and the only cure is a liver transplant. Fast Forward to the Fall of 2022, I found myself experiencing symptoms of this disease and through much testing and band-aid procedures I was diagnosed by winter of 2024 to be in stage 3 Fibrosis of the liver. By July I was recommended for testing to get my name on the donor list. Two days before Christmas of 2024 I was listed! During that time, I also was blessed beyond measure to have three loved ones come forward to undergo the process of becoming a live liver donor. By the grace of God all three were determined matches. But it was my sister, who was determined a perfect match. By January 2025 we had date for surgery. I cannot thank everyone enough who has prayed, offered kind words of hope, enthusiasm and love for my family, self and even the medical team at Northwestern. From the top to the bottom of my heart thank you, thank you, thank you.
