Supporting the DiPiero's NICU Journey

Story

As many of you know Lisa and Daniel recently welcomed their beautiful twins, who decided to grace us all with their presence at 27 weeks. The twins are doing well but are expected to remain in the NICU for several weeks at minimum, more likely it may be a few months before they come home. This means that in addition to recovering from Lisa's emergency c-section, she and Daniel must now conquer life as NICU parents. What does this look like you might ask? Both have opted to return to work so that they can have time off when the twins come home, which means they are working for 8-10 hours a day (plus commute time), heading to the hospital (again with the the driving) to see and snuggle the babies, then finally head home (ugh, driving again), and try to sleep for few hours just to get up the next morning and do it all again. A hectic schedule that is further complicated by Lisa's pumping schedule so that the babies can continue to benefit from Mom's antibodies and other good stuff. As you can see this doesn't leave much time for personal care (which is so important for new parents), household tasks, or even preparing a home-cooked meal, so let's work together and shoulder a little bit of that burden for them. Help when you can and how often you can. If you're not local send a gift card that they can use to order in a healthy dinner. Anything you can do will be a huge help!
