This page is intended to coordinate support for Jim and Hannah Maloney. As many of you are aware, the Maloney Family has just learned that 4-year-old Matilda has a Medulloblastoma brain tumor and that it is malignant. 6-year-old Henry and 8-year-old Chloe are being incredibly supportive of their sister. The coming weeks will bring many medical appointments as a treatment is developed. Fortunately, Matilda's prognosis appears to be good. She has been undergoing radiation to shrink the tumor and will begin chemotherapy when it is appropriate. The family may need help with coordinating childcare for the older kids. Help with them to extracurricular activities, inviting them for playdates - these things make such a difference. Jim will be taking a leave from work to care for Matilda for the moment as it is Hannah's job which provides health insurance for the family. He will not be paid during his leave and so the family is setting up a PayPal account to help them cover expenses such as housecleaning, food (kids who are sick aren't easy to feed and tend to develop strong food aversions). For this reason, when providing food for the Maloney Family, don't focus on Madeline as what she eats will be very variable.
