Dion has been fighting the fight of his life. In 2020, when things started opening up during the pandemic, Dion fainted during a family outing at Universal Studios. Subsequent labs indicated end-stage renal failure. Friends urged that he go to the ER. He was admitted within 30 minutes, diagnosed with PKD the next day and began dialysis immediately. Waiting any longer could have been detrimental. In July 2023, Dion had a double nephrectomy after spending a few days in the hospital due to a ruptured cyst that caused an infection. He opted for a bilateral nephrectomy to improve his appetite due to the size of the cystic kidneys and hopefully preventing other related complications. After years waiting and surgery being rescheduled two times, the time has finally come!! His step-daughter, Jayda, is selflessly giving him the ultimate gift of a kidney. The surgery and recovery will be intense for both of them and they need our support. Let’s make life easier for their family by providing dinner so they can both focus on healing!
