I will be at the Cleveland Clinic for an aortic aneurysm repair and aortic root repair. This is an open heart surgery. I have pre-op testing January 13 and 14, then the surgery is on January 15. It should take about 4 hours. I will be in the ICU for a day and then on a step down unit for 4-7 days before I come home. 
I won't be able to drive or lift anything for six weeks. And if I ride in a car I have to be in the back seat. 
While I have had the aneurysm for many years, it has grown to the size of becoming a risk for rupture...which would be bad! So I am taking the time to get this fixed. 
I am also leaving my job as a therapist at the Lindner Center of Hope and taking this time to figure out my "second mountain" in life.
