Hello friends! This past week I started the medicine to try to slow the progession of ALS. I think it is still too soon to see if its working but i havent had any side effects yet so thats a huge praise! Yesterday Joe and I attemped to do a prebuilt ginger bread house with Julia (thank you Jaime for buying) and lets just say the kid had an epic sugar high! Also last night i recived a wheelchair and have been able to scoot about the house today, play with Julia, and actually eat at the table! This has not been somethiing ive been able to do! I also painted a little today which was so fun and wore me out! Last friday my Bipap machine was delievered and while i was excited I quickly became discouraged by how much anxiety I was having using it and how overwheming it felt to breathe normally. I have been trying to get used to it, but its been a challange! Last night I attemped to use my Bipap machine all night while i slept and it went well!! I slept with it all night, was able to recline and reduce swelling in my feet and legs, and felt rested today! Tonight we are going to attempt to sleep in a bed for the first time in 3 months so please be praying!! Lastly, next week on the 19th we have an apointment in the morning with the high risk OB and an appointment in the afternoon to start the experimental drug that attacks the ALS gene. This is a huge deal and we would appriciate all the prayers!! Thank you for all you love, suppport, and most importantly prayers! Everyone has been such a light in our lives during such a dark time and there arent enough words to discribe our gratitude!
