For those that have been asking for an update on the Moores (Johnathan, Aubrey, & kids) here is where things are so far: One of the kids was diagnosed with severe mold toxicity in early September after months/years of testing to find a root cause for this child’s serious, persistent health issues. Three of the five in their family were experiencing prohibitive health conditions without explanation and with increasing severity. As a homeschool family, they spend the bulk of their time in the house, and so their first course of action was to have their home professionally tested for mold. The results showed that the house hosts high levels of a combination of extremely toxic molds —not just the everyday sort that shows up occasionally in bathrooms, etc., but the insidious types that hide behind walls, under flooring, behind cabinets, etc. Only a small percentage of the population are sensitive to these kinds of molds. After tedious research and consulting experts, it became abundantly clear that, because these molds are airborne, they have permeated porous materials in their home, including their possessions (think mattresses, couches, wood, books, clothes). Roughly 70-80% of their belongings will have to go to the dump, or to homes of non-sensitized people. They can keep nonporous items, but each one of those items will have to be cleaned with a specific multi-step process before going into their next living space. Insurance does not cover such losses because there was not a single event to file a claim on, as it occurred over time undetected. As you can imagine, this is daunting for this family as they face the inevitable upheaval and loss, as well as gritty work and waiting ahead, besides the immense financial burden. They are trusting the Lord in this and are extremely grateful for your continued prayers. Please pray: 🙏🏼 as they grieve the loss of their home & personal items, some irreplaceable 🙏🏼 as they search for their next living situation so their bodies can begin healing 🙏🏼 for clarity in what steps to take next and physical help at each step 🙏🏼 for the sale of their current home, the purchase of their next, and the rental in between The Lord has encouraged them, through a believer of Leviticus 14 (leprosy of the house), to know that there is nothing new under the sun, and he makes provision for even this. Here are practical ways to bless them if you are so inclined: 🏠 The rental market is sparse right now, so if you know of a local (North Davidson, northern West Davidson area, other) *SHORT-TERM RENTAL* available immediately with no history of water damage or at least with proper remediation, please let them know. 🧼 Once they move (prayerfully in the coming weeks), someone will organize a ‘cleaning party’ to aid in the small particle cleaning of the items they are keeping. 🧺 Laundry day to aid in the triple wash process clothes must go through before coming into their new place. 🥘 Their church will organize a meal train for a few weeks to help them through the transition as their kitchen supplies are being cleaned and set up again. 🛒 They’ve been asked to compile an Amazon list and Walmart registry for anyone who wants to help them start over. *They are up to their eyeballs with this tedious process and still homeschooling in the midst. They welcome your messages of encouragement, but for the foreseeable future won’t be able to return messages promptly, consistently, or at all. They are immensely thankful for the love and prayers they’ve already received!
