Matt Wheeler joined a men’s hoops group Sunday night. Unfortunately, things took a turn when he went up for a rebound and landed on someone’s foot. His foot twisted in a way it shouldn’t, and he suffered a compound fracture in his ankle. The ambulance came, and he had surgery Monday Night. The good news is that he’s on the road to recovery now. To love on him in his process we are organizing gift card and DoorDash meals to support him, but I wanted to share the story with you all as well. Matt has been such a shining light every time I walk into the UBC doors, and it was a blessing to have him out there with us on the court. It’s a bummer that things ended the way they did, but I trust that his presence and testimony touched some hearts. Please keep Matt in your prayers as he heals and recovers.
