Story
Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by! As you may know, I have a significant family history of hereditary breast cancer. On Nov 19, 2024, I had a routine screening mammogram, which showed a need for additional imaging. This was performed at the Breast Care Center on Dec 3, 2024. The additional imaging indicated a need for a biopsy, which was performed on Dec 9, 2024. On Dec 12, 2024, I received the news that my biggest fear had come to fruition: I was diagnosed with hereditary breast cancer, also known as triple negative breast cancer. While I have known this was a possibility for about 15 years now, facing the reality is truly terrifying. I will be undergoing a double mastectomy on Jan 17, 2025. With this procedure comes physical limitations, follow up appointments, and the hardest thing of all (for me, and those know me well will understand this) missing work. I’m asking for support of any kind! Whether that be prayers, well wishes and words of encouragement, donation support, prepared meals, etc. I have received an overwhelming (in a good way!) amount of support from those closest to me, and the hardest part of this journey is yet to come. I struggle with asking for help, and I know that money is very tough for many people right now. Please know I appreciate words of encouragement as much as monetary support.
