Story
Hello, Friends & Family, On February 25th, I will be having a lumpectomy to remove my breast cancer, which I was diagnosed with in October of 2024. In addition to the lumpectomy, I will be having breast reduction surgery to help reduce the chance of any cancer returning in the future. This procedure will require me to rest and lay low for at least 4-6 weeks with absolutely no lifting or bending over movements. Following this surgery, I will also undergo radiation treatment, daily, for about 5 weeks. This treatment causes a lot of fatigue and other painful and uncomfortable side effects. If you know me, I am always on the move with my almost 3 year old daughter Clara. She is in “school” twice a week and is super busy becoming a superhero on her days off. She keeps me busy! I am very grateful to have my husband here to help when he can, however, he is the primary source of our income right now and will be busy working during the week. I’m fortunate to also have my mother in law Debbie who is willingly staying here with us to help with Clara and other household tasks for as long as we need. However, I do feel that everyone deserves a break once in a while so I do not want to put too much on one person alone. Luckily, I have all of you!! I am not usually very good at asking for help when it comes to taking care of myself or my family, but in this particular situation I am reaching out and asking for any kind of help with meals during the days of my recovery. Any kind of meals; breakfast, lunch or dinner, we will gladly accept. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for everyone’s kindness and encouragement. I am so thankful for all of you who are here to support me and my family through this journey. God Bless.
