Lauren Hierholzer Post Ankle Surgery Support Train

Brevard, NC

Story

On Saturday, March 29, I took an unexpected fall while climbing on Looking Glass that resulted in serious injury including a fractured and dislocated right talus (ankle), broken right forearm, and minor head injury with brief loss of consciousness. Now, I am non weight bearing on my right leg for 3 months post surgery (through late June), and I will also have limited use of my right arm for a while as well (although I expect to regain normal use of this sooner). Since I live alone, this does leave me with some support needs in terms of accessing transportation, obtaining groceries, and walking my dogs. I've been overwhelmed at the kindness of my friends and family as well as the Brevard community, as so many have reached out for ways to help, so I thought I'd create this resource to organize efforts and give people an easy way to find and sign up for things I may need. If you're interested but have questions that aren't answered here, please feel free to text me, social media, etc. I am so inredibly grateful to all of you who have reached out, asked about ways to help, offered kind words, or already come by to visit! I am one lucky gal and have been blown away by the kindness of the humans around me.

Special Notes

Dates for groceries are flexible. If you’d like to help but that specific date doesn’t work, feel free to sign up and text me to coordinate a day or two before or after!
