On Sunday, 3/31/24 at 12:38a, a young 19 yo girl was speeding and managed to hit a tree on the passenger side of her car. She and the passenger left the scene, leaving 20 yo Cole Thompson and 20 yo Jon Seas, both severely (and Cole fatally) injured. Both were brought to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN where Cole was pronounced dead and Jon had been in the ICU ever since with 3rd degree burns over 1/3rd of his body. At 8am on Sunday 3/31, there was a knock on our door in Blaine - I am Cole's stepmother, Carie - married to his father, Kris. I didn't want to go down the steps, so I went to the window where where were 2 Blaine, MN POLICE SUVs in the street, and 2 Blaine cops at our door. I opened the window, they asked for Kristopher and then we were told that Cole had been killed in a car accident around 1am, that was all they knew. Since that day, we just have been trying to figure out answers and next-steps on how we proceed without Cole. Aside from his father and myself, he is survived by his mother and younger brother, and 3 sisters: all 3 younger than him. He was the oldest 💜 Cole is also survived by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins & a whole slew of heartbroken friends who need to figure out how to carry on. Cole had an infectious smile, and a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. He was a fun-loving kid, he loved being the rabble-rouser and he had a heart of gold. He is missed BEYOND MEASURE. No amount of anything can fill the hole we are all feeling with Cole being gone from our lives - so we just have to be there to love and support each other.
