I never thought I’d be in this position, but I have no other choice. I am trapped in an abusive relationship and desperately need to escape before it’s too late. Every day I stay, I am at risk—physically, emotionally, and mentally. I have a multitude physical and mental disabilities that restrict my ability to be self-sufficient. I have no family I have no friends and I'm at a loss for what to do, but there's more—I have my pets, who are my reason for waking up every day. They are my family, my comfort, and my strength. Unfortunately, I cannot take them to a shelter, as none in my state allow pets. This makes leaving even harder, but I refuse to abandon them. It wouldn't be fair that I get to heal and find a safe place but they get left behind. I desperately need support to secure a safe place where we can stay together. I am asking for help—whether it be donation or gift cards for a hotel, any assistance that will allow me to escape and keep my pets safe with me.
