Story
If you've made it to this page I've probably already explained to you what is going on, but thank you for all of your concern and support! It has been humbling how many people have reached out and it has truly meant the world to me. On July 9th I will be getting open heart surgery for about 8-12 hours to get what is called a Ross Procedure to fix an aortic aneurysm. If you're curious what that is I've added some link in the special notes section. I will be quite out of it after the procedure and will not be able to keep up with or respond to messages for at least a day or two. I wanted to give people a place to get updates so my family is not overwhelmed by questions so check this page if you have any questions about how it's going starting on the 9th of July. Post Procedure: I will be in the hospital in Nashville for at least 5 days following the surgery and then be coming back to Chattanooga for recovery. My mom, Lisa Wood, will be staying with me for a few weeks to support me but if you would like to help me, you can do so by helping her. I'll post on here with things that can help us both out as I get a better idea of what to expect. Here are some ideas in the mean time. - Some healthy meals - Just hanging out so I don't go insane - Light yard work so my yard doesn't wither away Recovery Details Most of the intense recovery will be in the first month and it sounds like I'll be fairly immobile during that time. I'm not quite sure what to expect but thankfully I'm young and in good health so I should be on the quicker side of recovery.
