Staying Thibeault Tough

Bellingham, MA

Story

This page to help Reggy, Susan (writing this) and kids as they continue to navigate the twists and turns that Reggy's Stage 4 Prostate Cancer has brought into their life. Reggy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer in February of 2024 after spending a lot of time rotating between doctor's offices and the hospital through the prior fall and winter. This diagnosis was a total surprise- especially since it was advanced into Reggy's bones including his hips, ribs, and spine. Reggy went through 5 rounds of chemotherapy in the summer of 2024, and after regaining some of his energy things seemed to be going ok until early February 2025 when he wound up back in the ER. We learned after numerous tests that Reggy's cancer has mutated and he will be going through another round of treatment in the form of radiation. There have been a bunch of bumps in the road along the way, including type 2 diabetes, increased migraines, anxiety, and pretty crazy fatigue that comes along. But, we have tried extremely hard to keep things as normal and routine as possible throughout this. Radiation is going to be the next step in battling Reggy's cancer, and the target area is going to his neck as he has a compression fracture in C7. The possible side effects are pretty scary including problems swallowing- and Reggy will be having 10 rounds of radiaiton over 2 weeks. The appointment for mapping for radiation is Monday March 17th- and radiation will be scheduled at that time.
