Loving Care for Kimberly Ann Martin

Story

Dear friends and family, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible support we have received during this challenging time. Your love, kindness, and unwavering support have been a source of strength for us, and we are forever grateful. The Ocean Shores community has shown us an outpouring of care that has touched our hearts deeply. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing by our side and offering your support in so many meaningful ways. Your acts of kindness, whether it be through cards, Facebook posts, or simply reaching out to check on us, have made a world of difference. Now, I would like to update you on Kim's progress. She is currently still in the ICU, but we have received some positive news. Her blood pressure has stabilized, which is a promising sign that she may soon be moved to a regular room. Although Kim is unable to speak at the moment, the joy she finds in reading your cards and posts is evident. Her face lights up, and she often exclaims "WOW" in awe of the love and support surrounding her. Physically, Kim is making strides towards recovery. Her left side is showing strength, but she still has no movement on her right side. However, there is hope as she does respond to pain on that side. She can also move her head from side to side and track movement with her eyes, using a head shake to answer questions with a yes or no. The brain swelling has significantly decreased, and the doctors are optimistic because it is a brain bleed rather than a clot. We are now preparing for the next step in her journey: surgery to address the Arteriovenous Malformation in her brain. This surgery is scheduled in a week and a half to two weeks, and we are hopeful for a successful outcome. Once again, I cannot express enough gratitude for the overwhelming support we have received. Your positive thoughts, well-wishes, and prayers have been a lifeline for us during this difficult time. We are truly blessed to have such an incredible network of support, and we draw strength from your love and encouragement. As we continue on this journey, we ask that you please keep Kim in your thoughts and prayers. Your continued support means more to us than words can express, and we are eternally grateful for each and every one of you. With love and gratitude, Jon Martin
