Jessica’s Recovery: A Meal Train, A Stroke of Luck, Love & Strength

Naples, FL

Story

Hey Y’all, I’m reaching out with a heartfelt invitation to come together and support our wonderful friend, Jessica Benavides, who is currently recovering from a stroke she experienced last week. I recently had the absolute joy of meeting Jess, and from the moment we connected, it felt like we were instant besties! You know that magical moment when you just click? I’m incredibly grateful for her friendship. When she started to feel unwell, I was a total worrywart and rushed to check on her. I jokingly told her she’s practically my only friend around here and that she can’t go pulling a disappearing act on me! It’s clear to me that she is the type of person who always puts others first—a true champion of kindness. Many of you have surely experienced her generous spirit firsthand! During a phone call, Jessica claimed and assured me she was "fine" and just taking it easy. But when I dropped by, I could see the tiredness and weariness that she is clearly experiencing, and knowing her, since I feel like we’re one and the same, I know she’s too stubborn to ask for help or feels like she’s being a Debbie downer especially when people ask her about how she’s feeling during her recovery. So it is no surprise that after visiting her yesterday it became clear to me that she is not one to ask for help, even when she truly needs it, which is why I felt compelled to organize this meal train. **How You Can Join the Fun:** I’m inviting all of Jess’s village to hop on board and bring her family a meal. This will lighten their load and allow Jess to focus on what truly matters: getting better! - Think simple, hearty meals that can be easily reheated, like freezer meals—easy peasy! - A little note of encouragement tucked in with your dish could sprinkle some joy into her day. - If cooking isn’t your jam, gift cards to local eateries or food delivery services are fantastic options for those too far away or just not feeling the chef vibes—trust me, no judgment here! Your support will mean the world to Jessica and her family during this tough time. Let’s shower her with the love and kindness she always shares with others! Thanks for rallying with me to support this truly amazing human! Warmest wishes, Zoraida

Special Notes

As far as I know, there are no allergies or dietary restrictions to worry about. However, I do know that Jess has a strong aversion to seafood—let's just say her taste buds prefer to keep things on dry land! So, let’s steer clear of the fishy dishes and keep the meals sea-free. Thanks for your understanding!
