Story
From Mallory: November 27th my mother was taken by ambulance from the parade. A couple of hours later she would be flown to presbyterian for a Hemorrhagic Stroke that caused bleeding around the brain with hydrocephalus on top of it. After many decisions and procedures, she became more stable. For a couple weeks she had a drain relieving the fluid from her brain. Upon removing that, they moved her to a rehabiliation hospital. Thankfully closer than she had been in Charlotte. She has been there for almost two weeks with physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. She is suffering from a lot of memory issues and "remembering" things that did not happen. And requires physical monitoring a lot of the times. Tomorrow she comes home and will be staying with us for the foreseeable future. She has to be monitored every hour or two and we are not sure how long this is to last. Therapy providers and nurses will be in and out of the house. We will have appointment after appointment for weeks trying to sort out medicines, doctors and benefits because none of this was under control when she went into the hospital. Due to my mothers high needs of care, until medicaid can approve home nursing, I will be out of work. Potentially longer due to her high need of appointments and someone to help her manage everything. I've learned how to care for people over the years. Better than i've learned to care for myself. I am not scared to take on this responsibility. I meet it head on with all the confidence. What I can not stop stressing over is not having any money to pay my bills. So I ask for prayers. For the Lord to intervene where I am unable. If anyone knows me, you know how hard it is for me not to be able to provide for myself. I will be doing all that I can to make each payment happen. If anyone knows of any programs that can help us emergently rather than weeks or months down the road, I would also appreciate this information as well. My inbox is always open.
