Story
Jimbo has been sick since August 9th. He was admitted to the hospital on August 13th with Covid pneumonia. On August the 20th he was put into ICU. On August the 24th he was only given 3 days to live. At that time his family contacted his oncologist at Baptist and she arranged for critical care to transport him to the oncology ICU on August 25th. He was placed on a ventilator at 10:00 that same night and his family was unable to see him for 36 days. On Monday, September 13th he had surgery to place a trach to to try and get him off the ventilator. Through the next week they worked on getting him off the ventilator with a trach collar and oxygen. On September 17th Jimbo's family finally got to see him. He was in ICU until October 1st. Cathy stayed with him until he was discharged on October 6th. Cathy has been unable to work due to being his fulltime caregiver. When Jimbo came home he was unable to walk. He can now walk short distances around his house but has not been cleared yet to be outside except to go to doctor appointments. He is going through therapy, speech for swallowing and physical to help him regain his strength and be able to walk. Jimbo is a true definition of a miracle. If you can help the family out with meals & gift cards that would be so helpful as Jimbo can't be left alone at home.
