UPDATE FROM EMERSON MARCUS: Sarah Marcus, the love of my life and amazing mother to our children, died peacefully yesterday at Renown Regional Medical Center after a nearly two-year battle with cancer. I was with her, along with her sister, Michelle Shearer Outland, brother, Jason Shearer and Sarah’s best friend, Stephanie Shuman. I honestly don’t know how I would’ve gotten through the day (and past couple years) without them. I’ve received lots of support from so many people. Truly thankful to all. Sarah was admitted last week as the colon cancer continued a fast-moving progression to lungs. As things quickly deteriorated, we decided on palliative hospital care around noon yesterday. She died about four hours later. I have so much I want to say about Sarah. She was not only my wife, but also my best friend. She was loving, beautiful, athletic, hard-working, a great family woman, strong-willed and full of integrity and life. It’s a confusing time for me. Coming to grips with this has not been easy and I know it will take time. There is one thing I do know for sure: I will always love Sarah Marcus.
